Sequentia Sequentia Emissio
Guide

Generate a mainnet address safely

Your Emissio balance is paid at launch to a Sequentia mainnet address that you control. Generating one is exactly as easy, and exactly as serious, as generating a Bitcoin keypair: Sequentia uses the same seed phrases, the same key derivation, and the same address format as Bitcoin.

What you are making

A seed phrase (12 or 24 words) from which your keys derive, and from it a receiving address that starts with bc1. The address is public and safe to share: you paste it into your Emissio account. The seed phrase is the money itself: anyone who reads it can take everything the address ever receives. Nothing else in this process matters as much as keeping those words private.

Because Sequentia's transparent addresses use Bitcoin's own format, any well-audited Bitcoin wallet can generate your Sequentia mainnet address. You do not need Sequentia software for this step.

Recommended: a hardware wallet

  1. Use a hardware signing device from a reputable vendor (bought new, direct from the vendor).
  2. Create a new wallet on the device and write the seed phrase on paper as the device shows it. Two paper copies, two places.
  3. Take the first native segwit receiving address. It starts with bc1q.
  4. Paste that address into your Emissio account, then re-read it character by character against the device screen.

Also fine: a desktop wallet, generated offline

  1. Pick a well-known open-source Bitcoin wallet: Sparrow, Electrum, or Bitcoin Core. Download it from the project's official site and verify the download signature if you can.
  2. Disconnect from the internet, then create a new wallet with a fresh seed phrase.
  3. Write the seed phrase on paper. Not in a file, not in a screenshot, not in a password manager synced to the cloud, not in email.
  4. Copy one receiving address (it starts with bc1q), reconnect, and paste it into your Emissio account.

Taproot addresses (they start with bc1p) are also accepted.

Rules that protect you

  • Use a fresh seed, not the seed of a Bitcoin wallet you already use. It works either way, but a fresh seed keeps your existing coins and your allocation unlinked, on both chains.
  • Never type your seed phrase into a website. Emissio never asks for your seed, your private keys, or a signature. Anyone who does is stealing from you.
  • Submit a transparent address. Sequentia is transparent by default and that is what the launch payout uses. Confidential addresses exist on Sequentia as an opt-in feature, but they use a different format and are not accepted here.
  • Test your backup. Before you rely on the address, wipe the wallet (or use a second device) and restore it from your paper words. If the same bc1 address comes back, your backup works.
  • Keep it until launch. The payout goes to the address on your account at the launch snapshot. You can update the address any time before then.

At launch

Your balance is paid on the Sequentia mainnet to the address on your account. To see and spend it, restore your seed phrase in a Sequentia wallet. Sequentia wallets are dual-chain: the same seed gives you your Sequentia assets and a Bitcoin wallet side by side, sharing the same address format.
